Aww! Hehe, that's a cool way to think about it. All things aside though I don't think I have the drive, or what it takes. I mean I'm sure you'd know that. My stomach still hurts when I think about all of it you know?

I'm sure it'll be a nice turnout though if just anyone can up and get in for this though. I know I'm going to try to talk to some of my friends about it.

Well, the apps are open until July 24, if you change your mind. ;)

Definitely tell your friends, I'm sure you know some awesome artists out there.

Well, I'm kind of thinking of it some more. And I had some stock character idea for a while but I just don't know. My friends didn't really show interest so they wouldn't accompany me. But I still just want to know if I'm ABLE to do it, but in this setting it seems...Too easy. If I wanted to, could I just apply in the incubator like normal? I feel like everyone's against me so I feel like doing it the old fashioned way might be a way to show I'm not interested in "slipping under the radar" or whatever.

Also I just realized I haven't ever shown off anything comic wise there really. If you could, what do you think of my current level in comics? Will that be enough to at least START at EV? idk cause if I did this character business I wanna know if the comics would be good enough. I mean, idk all this openness is kinda exciting :)

If you want to, yeah you can apply the normal way. The idea behind the tournament, though, is to get newbies like yourself right into battling without worrying about the submission process, which can lead to people procrastinating, losing motivation, or any other sorts of things.

I really like that you're willing to forgo the tournament to test yourself against the usual submission process, it shows a desire to improve and challenge yourself. As you are, to be honest, you do need some work on the basics, but part of the Invitational tournament is to put artists through a trial by fire. If you're put in a situation that requires you to step up your game, the idea is that you will. And if all else, you can always step back and practice and then come back to apply the normal way too. We just want to see you come and draw comics.

That's a cool idea. Yeah I guess trying to turn the urgency up a bit I guess. "No Pressure No Diamonds" they say...Well I'm still extremely a little nervous about it but yeah a month is a long time to think about it.

Maybe I'm just seriously not good with pressure. If that's the case maybe I won't REALLY ever be great, and you have to be great at EV. I don't know, I'll probably just do what I've done. Draw comics, then cut it all off to solely practice, and then never look at the big picture of drawing comics again. But yeah I still don't know.Even so, in my standstill of comics I'm in right now, I'll be thinking about this for the whole month.

You don't have to be "great" to be on Void, haha. It's a community, with all ranges of skills. Being good under pressure comes with confidence in skills, and that comes only from practice.

If you're serious about drawing and improving, practice is the only way to move forward. The Invitational Tourney is just an excuse to get people to practice, really.
